What to Expect When You Visit Clint Newman, DDS
I have been practicing dentistry in Nashville since 2001, and in that time, I have learned that most people do not actually dislike the dentist. What they dislike is the version of the dentist they grew up with: the cold chair, the rushed appointment, the feeling of being just another name on the schedule. I built this practice to be the opposite of that.
I want to tell you a little about what that looks like in practice, and a bit about the person behind it. Every visit here is a modern, technologically advanced experience built around comfort, not just clinical efficiency. That is true whether you are coming in for a six-month checkup or sitting down to talk through a full smile makeover. I want you to leave feeling like your time mattered and your results speak for themselves, not like you just checked a box on your to-do list.
Applying Life Lessons to My Dentistry Approach
How This Practice Came To Be
Before any of this, I was a college basketball player at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where I first got involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. That environment taught me something I still lean on every day: preparation is not optional, and the standard you hold yourself to in practice is the standard you will actually perform to when it counts. I carried that mindset straight into dental school and, in 2001, straight into Nashville, where I opened this practice with nothing but a chair, a plan, and a belief that patients deserved better than what I had seen elsewhere.
I still think about the office the same way I once thought about game day. Nothing here is decorative for its own sake. The equipment, the materials, the way we talk you through a treatment plan, all of it has to actually perform under real conditions, because a smile you are not confident in does not get better just because the waiting room looked nice. That standard is also why the Tennessee Titans trust their smiles to this practice. Elite athletes do not have patience for anything that only looks good sitting still, and neither do I.
I was honored to join Dr. Travis Stork on The Doctors to talk about how everyday food and drink choices affect your teeth.
Our Commitment
Confident, Comfortable Dental Care
We see a lot of patients who want a brighter, more confident smile, whether that means porcelain veneers, a full smile makeover, or something smaller in scope. My goal is always the same: to give you results you are genuinely proud of, delivered in an office that does not feel like a waiting room you are trying to escape. We work with some of the country's best dental laboratories and materials like IPS Empress and e.max, chosen because they hold their color and shape for years, not because they are the easiest option to source.
That comfort-first approach extends to patients who feel genuinely anxious about being in the chair at all. For those visits, we offer sedation dentistry, coordinated by a board-certified anesthesiologist, so you can get the care you need without the dread that has kept you away from the dentist in the past.
"Every visit should feel like a modern, comfortable experience, not something you have to brace yourself for."
Real Results
A Smile Makeover, Start to Finish
Numbers and promises only go so far, so here is one example of what that looks like in the chair. This patient came to us self-conscious about the color, wear, and unevenness of their front teeth. In just two visits, we were able to place custom veneers that gave them a smile they were excited to share again.
Before and after: custom porcelain veneers, completed in two visits.
About Me
Meet the Doctor
I am Clint Newman, and dentistry has always been about more than the chair for me. I am proud to serve as the official dental provider for the Tennessee Titans, working alongside a team that takes performance and confidence seriously on and off the field. That mindset is exactly what I bring into this practice every day: precision, preparation, and a genuine investment in how people feel about themselves.
A little about my background, in case you are wondering who is behind the chair:
- ✓ Grew up in Atlanta, GA, and have called Nashville home since 2001
- ✓ Official dental provider for the NFL's Tennessee Titans
- ✓ Doctor of Dental Surgery, University of Tennessee College of Dentistry
- ✓ Represented a four-state region on the American Dental Association's New Dentists Committee
- ✓ Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Nashville Dental Society
- ✓ Active supporter of the Nashville Interfaith Dental Clinic, which provides care to patients who otherwise could not afford it
That last point matters to me as much as anything on this list. Dentistry should make people feel more confident, not more anxious, and that belief is the foundation of everything we do here.
What started right here in Green Hills has grown over the years into three practices across the Nashville area: this office, Gulch Dental Studio near downtown and Music Row, and Dental Haus in Germantown. Different neighborhoods, same philosophy, and honestly, the same standard I set for myself back when this was just one chair in Green Hills.
Who We See in This Office
Every Smile Has a Reason
Some patients come to us because a cracked tooth will not wait. Others come in because they are getting married in six months and finally ready to deal with the smile they have been hiding in photos for years. A lot of our patients are professionals in their 20s and 30s: people heading into interviews, client meetings, and first dates, who have already put real thought into how they show up in the world and want their smile to keep pace with everything else they have worked for.
Whatever brought you in, we treat the conversation the same way. We tell you what we actually see, what your realistic options are, and what it will take to get there, so you are deciding based on facts instead of guesswork.
What You Can Expect
The Details We Do Not Cut
- ✓ A free consultation before any cosmetic treatment plan, so you know your options before you commit to anything
- ✓ Custom porcelain veneers completed in as little as two visits
- ✓ Sedation administered by a board-certified dental anesthesiologist, not a default script for every patient
- ✓ Materials chosen for how they hold up years from now, not just how they look on day one
- ✓ A team that has treated professional athletes and first-time patients with the exact same standard of care
Getting Started
Experience Boutique Care for Yourself
I know a lot of people put off dental visits because of a bad experience somewhere else, or because they are not sure where to start. That is exactly why we built this practice the way we did. Whether you are looking for routine care or considering cosmetic work like veneers, our team is here to walk you through it without any pressure.
And if you don't have dental insurance, that should never be the reason you put off care. Our Dental Savings Plan is a low-cost annual membership that covers your essential preventive care and gives you a discount on additional treatment, with no waiting periods or claim forms to deal with.
